Six starters return for the Jayettes, who can no longer be penciled in as an "automatic win" on any team's schedule.

CARROLL — Breda Golf Course hosted the Perry boys junior varsity and three other teams at the Kuemper Catholic Quadrangular April 30.

The host Knights won the event with score of 164, with Carroll second at 173, Denison-Schleswig at 187 and Perry at 197.

Zach Roberts had three pars en route to a Perry-best round of 47, with Tanner Darr having two pars while carding a 48. Dane McCarty had a par and a birdie while shooting a 49 while Tyler Solls had two pars while carding a 53. Rounds of 56 from Tanner Duffy and of 57 from Luke Rathje were not used toward the team total.

Perry struggled on the second and fifth holes, coincidentally the two par-3 holes on the course. The six Perry players were a combined 15-over par on the former despite a par from Darr, with the Jays a combined 10-over par on the later.

Nathan Nelson led Carroll with a medalist-winning 36, with the hosts guided by runner-up Parker Badding’s 39. The Monarchs received their low score, a 42, from Josef Rogers.
