Bluejay track team battle 13 opponents at Wildcat Invite

CARLISLE — The Perry boys finished eighth among 14 teams competing in the Wildcat Invitational Tuesday.

The Bluejays placed in three individual races, with Reece Dunlap’s third place effort of 23.53 seconds in the 200 dash leading the way. Adan Medina was fourth in the 400 in a personal-best 51.53, with Brandon Kenyon fifth in the 400 low hurdles in 1 minute, 1.43 seconds.

Shammond Ivory earned points for fifth place in the long jump. His flight of 19 feet, 9 inches was a personal best.

Medina, Nic Fellom, Eli Saemisch and Jacob Thompson teamed for third place in the 1600 medley in a season best clocking of 3:54.83 with a season low 1:34.77 time in the 4×200 from the quartet of Kenyon, Fellom, Saemisch and Dunlap finishing fourth.

Fellom was joined by Rashon Ivory, Alexis Garrido and Jose Castellanos for fourth place in the 4×400 (3:39.11) while Thompson, Kaleb Olejniczak, Alex Long and Juma Bushiri were fourth in the 4×800 in 8:39.04.
