Perry's Justin Stammer takes a swing against Ballard Thursday. Stammer would single through the left side on the next pitch, moving Kaleb Olejniczak from first base to third on a perfectly-executed hit-and-run.

GILBERT — Winless Perry spurted to a 3-0 lead in the top of the third inning Tuesday, but host Gilbert responded with seven runs in their ensuing at-bat to take control of the non-conference baseball tilt. The Tigers ended the game early by scoring six times in the home half of the fifth for a 13-3 triumph.

Sam Wildeboer threw three innings for Gilbert (9-2). He surrendered three runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks while striking out five. Jacob Papesh pitched two frames of scoreless relief, striking out four of the six batters he faced.

Ben Simodynes had two singles and three RBIs for the hosts, with Easton Johnson hitting two singles and a double while driving in two runs.

Gilbert was aided by six Perry errors and hit five doubles in the game.

Alex Morales started for the Bluejays (0-8) and allowed 10 hits and two walks while hitting one batter. He tossed 4-1/3 innings, yielding nine runs of which only three were earned.

Kaden Boyer recorded one out in relief, surrendering four runs (two earned) while walking three batters and hitting two with pitches.

Kaleb Olejniczak had a double, a RBI and scored once, with Keghan West adding two singles and two RBIs. Kate Dougan walked and scored, with Justin Stammer walking, stealing a base and scoring once.
