BONDURANT — The good vibes generated by a boys/girls sweep Monday quickly vanished Tuesday, as Bondurant-Farrar walloped Perry in a Raccoon River Conference twin bill.

The Lady Jays (7-4, 3-4) used a hard-to-believe shooting percentage beyond the 3-point arc to blow past the Jayettes (5-7, 0-6), 76-35, in the opener, with B-F (4-6, 3-4) dominating the rebounding against a cold Perry (3-7, 1-5) offense for a 78-36 win in the nightcap.

B-F sank 8-of-12 3-pointers in the first quarter alone to score the first 20 points of the game and race to a stunning 31-3 lead after just eight minutes. Despite the bombardment Perry stayed with their 2-3 zone defense, even as the hot hand continued for B-F (the hosts finished 14-of-25 beyond the arc) as the lead swelled to 54-15 at the intermission.

A continual clock played throughout the second half, with the game requiring less than 55 minutes to complete. The referees kept their whistles silent, speeding the game along, with the result that Perry was 1-of-2 at the line and B-F 4-of-6, with all attempts coming in the second half.

Molly Lutmer sank four treys for Perry to finish with 16 points, with Lydia Olejniczak making two deep shots as part of her 14 points. Two points apiece from Jayna Kenney and Ainsley Marburger and a Hannah Peterson free throw wrapped the visitor scoring.

Riley Gilroy (5), Taylor Berggren (3), Avery Fried (2), Casi Waterhouse (2), Katie Fogarty (1) and Mia Miller (1) provided the long-range onslaught for the Lady Jays.

Gilroy finished with 17 points, Fried 14 and Fogarty 13, with Bergrren adding nine points and Katelyn Lappe eight. Waterhouse added six points and Miller three, with Rebekah Fuller, Lauren Osborn and Kaylie Seitzer each scoring two points.

Four Bluejays reached double-digits to help power the home team to their win in the boys outing. B-F capitalized on numerous second and third-chance opportunities throughout the game, and held leads of 20-6 after one frame and of 33-16 at the break.

A 20-12 edge in the third quarter opened a 53-28 gulf, with the hosts pouring it on in a 25-8 fourth stanza to more than double Perry’s offensive output.

Kato Dougan led Perry with 13 points, with Keghan West adding 10 and Brendan Ivory eight. Three points from June Rey Riesberg and free throws from Sincere Johnson and Chase Archer accounted for the remainder of Perry’s scoring.

Cade Eichmeier and Marquis Geogre-Townes each had 14 points for B-F, with Braden Miller providing 12 points and Colby Collison 10. Nate Anderson tallied nine points and Ben Trulson seven, with Carter Sanny scoring six points, Cameron Meislahn four and Nolan Mayer two.

Perry will travel to Carlisle Friday for their first action in the new Wildcat gym. The girls game will begin at 6 p.m.
