Bondurant-Farrar improved to 8-2 in the Raccoon River Conference by blasting host Perry, 15-1, in five innings at Progressive Field Wednesday.

Perry (13-10, 5-5) was guilty of an unofficial total of seven errors in the loss. The team is now 3-6 this season in games in which at least one team has scored in double-digits, and while the Jays are 10-3 on the road are just 3-6 on their own diamond.

Three errors and a Ty Flannery double combined to give B-F (14-10 overall) a 3-0 lead after one inning.

A walk and consecutive singles set the stage for Flannery’s grand slam in the second inning, with two walks and three more errors allowing an additional three runs to score as the guests posted a shocking 10-0 lead after just two frames.

B-F went ahead, 13-0, with three more runs in the third before Perry finally answered with Janier Puente scoring on a Will Whiton double in the bottom of the stanza.

Two additional runs from the visiting Bluejays in the fifth provided the final score.

Puente and Kyle Nevitt added singles to Whiton’s double to account for the only hits off Carter Brandt, who walked two and struck out seven in earning the pitching win.

Nevitt started for Perry and lasted just two innings. He allowed 10 runs (five earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out one.

Blake Lansing was touched for five runs (four earned) on four hits and four walks in 2-1/3 innings of relief, during which he struck out two batters. Kade VanKirk recorded two outs on the hill, one by strikeout, in his short appearance. He yielded one hit.

Flannery was 3-for-4 with five RBIs for B-F, finishing with two doubles and a grand slam. Austin Demers and Casey Zarr also had doubles for the visitors.

Perry will host Ballard for a varsity doubleheader tonight, with the first game of the twin set to begin at 5 p.m.
