What principal Ned Menke termed an “amazing amount of giving” from local sources will continue both Friday and Monday at the Perry Elementary School.

Parents can collect a grab-and-go sack lunch (including breakfast for the following day) at the rear entrance to Perry Elementary from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. Monday-Friday.

On Friday (March 27) parents will be offered a book, free to keep, from the Perry Public Library, which has offered several hundred titles to be given away. Menke thanked library director Mary Murphy for “helping to keep the kids reading” during the COVID-19 shutdown.

The spirit of community will continue Monday during the lunch collection time when the Perry Parks and Recreation Department will be handing out a variety of sports equipment in the hopes of keeping youngsters active. Basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, disc golf gear and more will be available.
