Brian Robert Templeman, 42, of Bouton was arrested Friday on a charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

A Bouton man was arrested Friday afternoon after he allegedly “clawed” his wife during a domestic disturbance.

Brian Robert Templeman, 42, of 200 W. Fourth St., Bouton, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 4 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of Fourth Street in Bouton, where Dallas County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of “a domestic in progress,” according to court records.

The deputies determined that Templeman, who “was clearly intoxicated and uncooperative,” according to court records, was inside the residence and had locked the female victim out of the residence in the course of a dispute.

The victim told the deputies that Templeman “got upset and came at her and clawed her hand,” according to court records.

The deputies observed that the victim “had a claw mark on her right hand, which had fresh blood,” according to court records.

Templeman is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 8 in Dallas County District Court.

Templeman was convicted of two counts of assault on peace officers and others in 2012 in Dallas County District Court.
