Postseason basketball for boys teams will soon begin, with four classes vying for spots in Des Moines.
Perry (0-13) visits DC-G (15-2) Feb. 22 in Class 3A Substate 8 play, with ADM (8-9) hosting Harlan (9-9) in the other top-half quarterfinal in the bracket. The winners meet, Feb. 25, in Grimes.
The bottom half of the bracket has Glenwood (17-2) hosting Clarke (6-11) while Atlantic (10-6) entertains Creston (8-9). The victors will meet Feb. 25 in Atlantic. The Substate 8 Final will be March 1 at Atlantic, unless the Trojans are playing, in which case the site will be determined.
Panorama (17-4) will host, Thursday, the winner of Monday’s game between AC/GC (16-5) and visiting WCV (3-18) in 2A District 15. Van Meter (14-5) will also play host Thursday, entertaining either host Central Decatur (12-7) or Interstate-35 (5-11), who meet Saturday. The District Final is Feb. 23, the Substate 8 Final Feb. 27.
Woodward-Granger (8-13) hosts Chariton (3-16) Monday, with the winner playing PCM (9-10) in Monroe Thursday. Des Moines Christian (18-2) is the other home team on Thursday; the Lions will play either Pleasantville (5-14) or Colfax-Mingo (1-14), who play Saturday. The District 12 Final is Feb. 23, the Substate 6 Final Feb. 27.
All records are as of Feb. 12, with all games currently scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
