The Beta Sigma Phi Chapters of Xi Pi, Alpha Rho, Gamma Delta and Torchbearers met April 25 for their annual Founder’s Day banquet.
The four Perry chapters gathered to celebrate not only the 85th anniversary of the international organization but more than 75 years of Beta Sigma Phi in Perry.
Hosted by the Alpha Rho Chapter, those attending had a chance to examine mementos of the history of the sorority including a picture of the charter members and the original charter from 1941.
Following dinner, JoAnn Harmelink and Sue Leslie of the Gamma Delta Chapter presented a Powerpoint presentation highlighting the history of Beta Sigma Phi in Perry.
Wilma Collins and Beryl Cox of the Torchbearer Chapter were honored with pins signifying 70 years of membership. Also recognized was Ruth Fouch, who was unable to attend. Mrs. Fouch has been a member for 72 years.
Beta Sigma Phi is an international service and social sorority whose members give back to the community in a variety of ways.
