The Iglesia Cristo Viene drew a crowd of about 60 to Saturday's Burger Fest fundraiser, including, from left, grill master Michael Garnett, Lupe Garcia, Lalo Garcia, Samuel Martinez, Iglesia Cristo Viene Pastor Edwin Moreno, Marvic Sarceno, Stephanie Cisneros and Ivette Moreno. In the foreground are Aurora Garnett, 5, and her mother, Crystal Garnett. The man on the right with the toddler was not identified. Away making deliveries when the photo was taken were Samantha Paulin, Marilee Moreno, Alicia Schmidt and Yeisha Sarceno.

Members of the Iglesia Cristo Viene hosted a Burger Fest from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Proceeds from the fundraiser will support the church’s mission trip to Honduras.

“We are also collected over-the-counter medicines,” said Lupe Garcia, who helped organize the event. “Many people in the mountains of Honduras are very poor and cannot get the common medicines we use all the time.”

Pastor Edwin Moreno said the Iglesia Cristo Viene congregation is growing steadily and normally has 60 to 75 people attending services.

Located at Willis Avenue and W. Ninth Street in Perry, the church also houses the portrait studio of Yeisha Sarceno.
