Grading has begun at Black Corners on a 60' x 160' building that will house a camper-assembly operation.

DALLAS CENTER, Iowa — A new business is under construction at the intersection of U.S. Highway 169 and Iowa Highway 44 just south of Threshing Floor Energy.

The Dallas County Supervisors, following the recommendation of the Dallas County Planning and Zoning Commission, recently rezoned the parcel from agricultural to light industrial in order to allow the operation of a camper assembly business.

Josh Bandstra of Waukee, owner of Gobe Campers, told the supervisors that he intends to build a 60′ x 160′ building in which he will paint the campers and attach them to trailer chassis. Bandstra also plans to do automobile body and restoration work.

Grading has begun on the 3.75-acre parcel, which was sold by Robert Calef Barton and Tracy Barton in April for $125,000 to IPE1031 REV374 LLC of West Des Moines, according to county records.
