Cardinals turn back Panthers netters in WCAC play

EARLHAM — Scores of 27-25, 25-14 and 25-20 carried Earlham to a 3-0 sweep of visiting Panorama Tuesday in West Central Activities Conference volleyball.

The Cardinals improved to 15-11 overall and 3-4 in WCAC play with the win while the Panthers fell to 7-19 and 1-6.

Brooke Halterman and Nicole Rolfes had six kills apiece for Panorama, with Morgan Johnk making five kills in her return to action after an ankle injury. Olivia Richey and Hope Wilderman had two kills apiece, with Carson Fisher and Kennedy Kuta — who had 19 assists — both making one kill each.

Rolfes had seven digs and Halterman and Richey four apiece, with Johnk providing three digs, Hannah Woodworth two and Wilderman one, with Halterman and Johnk each making a block.

Kuta served 17-of-17 with two aces, with Halterman and Rolfes both 7-8-1, Wilderman 7-7-1 and Woodworth 6-8-1.

Panorama host Des Moines Christian tonight and will play Saturday at the Norm McCune Invitational in Woodward.
