CARLISLE — Both Perry basketball teams found points hard to come by Friday as host Carlisle waltzed to a pair of lopsided wins in Raccoon River Conference basketball Friday.

Carlisle (4-1, 2-0) opened a 17-6 lead over Perry (1-6, 0-2) after the first quarter in the girls game, then kept the Jayettes from scoring in the second period to enter the half with a 36-6 advantage en route to a 62-19 win.

The Wildcat boys (2-1, 2-0) were also out fast, leading 19-2 after eight minutes of play and 48-15 after 16 minutes of one-sided action. The Bluejays (0-5, 0-2) faced a 74-20 deficit after three quarters and fell by an 83-28 final.

Senior guard Collin Lister was all but unstoppable for Carlisle in the nightcap, single-handedly outscoring Perry by pouring in 37 points. He drained three 3-pointers in the first half as part of his 25 points in the first 16 minutes.

Alex Morales had the only basket for Perry in the first quarter and finished with a career-best nine points to pace the Jays. Jordan Long scored all eight of his points in the second frame, with seven points from Mohamed Abdelnabi and four from Keghan West completing the Perry scoring.

Ainsley Marburger hit a 3-pointer, Molly Lutmer a short jumper and Gabby West hit a free throw to account for the six points the Jayettes were limited to in the opening half of their game.

Leading by 30 at the half, Carlisle spread the gap to 52-15 after three periods in collecting the conference win.

Lutmer finished with 13 points for Perry, Marburger with five and West with one.

Kennedy Preston led the Wildcats with 18 points, with Sydney Berg adding 17 points and Molly Hoekstra 13.

Perry steps out of the conference for a Tuesday trip to Norwalk before returning to RRC action when they host ADM Friday.
