A Cedar Rapids man was arrested Friday after allegedly striking an Adel man in the face.
Caezar Adeeb Ahmad Amro, 56, of 130 Heath St. N.W., Cedar Rapids, was charged with assault.
The incident began about 7:30 p.m. Friday when an officer of the Adel Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 29400 block of Old Portland Road.
The officer made contact with the victim, who “was visibly afraid, shaking and had stated he had thrown up prior to arriving at a neighbors’ residence,” according to court records.
The officer observed on the victim “a black eye starting to form under the victim’s left eye,” and the victim confirmed that “he was hit in the face by” Amro, according to court records.
Amro was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $300 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a pretrial conference Nov. 3 in Dallas County District Court.
*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
