Students, staff, families and friends of the St. Patrick Catholic School will kick off the 2020 Catholic Schools Week celebrations Saturday, Jan. 25 with a 4:30 p.m. Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Perry.

After Mass, a chili and pozoloe supper will be served at the school, including the famous St. Pat’s cinnamon rolls, courtesy of volunteers. The St. Patrick School Open House begins at 5:30 p.m. for anyone wishing to tour the school and learn more about the community.

The celebrations continue Monday, Jan. 27 with the theme of Celebrating Community. Students may wear any St. Pat’s shirt or Light Up the Knight shirt with their uniform bottoms. The middle school will also be going out into the community.

Celebrating Students is the theme on Tuesday, Jan. 28, with students wearing dress-up clothes or their uniforms. The school will watch a short movie in the morning, with reading for the younger classes.

Wednesday brings Celebrating the Nation theme, with an 11:45 a.m. dismissal so that staff may attend the Diocesan-wide Catholic Schools Week Mass. Wearing crazy socks with their uniforms, the students in grade-level bands will be honoring the Rosary through different activities during the day and working on an activity of sharing, “What I like about St. Pat’s.”

Celebrating Vocations is Thursday’s theme, with students dressing in the attire of their future jobs.

Friday concluded Catholic Schools Week with the theme of Celebrating the Staff, Faculty, and Volunteers. Students may wear sportswear or other comfortable clothes. Friday also brings the staff/student dodgeball game.

The St. Patrick’s School fifth grade sits at mid-court Thursday during the 2016 celebration of Catholic Schools Week.
