Chargers capture WCAC match against host Panthers

PANORA, IOWA — Visiting AC/GC recorded a 3-0 sweep of Panorama Thursday in WCAC volleyball, winning the match with scores of 25-15, 25-14 and 25-20.

The victory lifted the Chargers to 12-8 overall and 4-3 in conference play while the host Panthers fell to 6-14 and 3-4.

The contest saw both teams wear pink jerseys as part of the breast cancer awareness drive promoted each October.

Jaidyn Sellers had a team-high 10 kills for Panorama, with Tyme Boettcher and Grace Webner adding three kills apiece while Jazmyn Sellers tallied two kills. Mollie Monthei provided 14 of the assists, with Jasmarie Flanery having two and Jazmyn Sellers and Keira Simmons one each.

Boettcher recorded nine digs, Jaidyn Sellers seven, and Webner and Monthei six apiece to lead the defense. Flanery and Jazmyn Sellers each had five digs, with Andrea Hammer adding one.

The Panthers served 39-of-45 (87 percent) overall with six aces. Boettcher led the way by finishing 9-10-4 behind the line, with Jaidyn Sellers 5-7-1 and Jazmyn Sellers 3-4-1. Flanery finished 6-of-6, Webner 4-of-6 and Hammer 1-of-1.

Panorama will conclude their regular season by visiting Woodward-Granger Tuesday before hosting Des Moines Christian Oct. 14.
