GUTHRIE CENTER — Six-foot-two sophomore Chloe Largent pounded down 30 kills to help host AC/GC defeat Woodward-Granger, 3-1, in WCAC volleyball Sept. 10.

AC/GC improved to 11-1 and 3-0 with the win while W-G saw their record drop to 5-9 overall and 1-2 in league play.

The Chargers won game one 27-25, and game two, 25-21, before the Hawks responded to post a 25-15 game three victory. Hopes of forcing a fifth and deciding game were blunted when AC/GC rallied to score a 25-23 victory in game four.

Natalie Weaver and Elly Polich had 17 kills apiece to lead W-G, with Katelyn Scharlau adding nine kills, Emma Drake eight and Brayten Ashman and Katelyn Bandstra one apiece. Drake finished with 23 assists and Polich with 16 while Darby Nixon had seven assists and Scharlau one.

Nixon (25) and Polich (22) led the team in digs, with Bandstra (12), Weaver (10), Drake (9), Scharlau (4) and Jenae Jones (1) helping the cause. Ashman, Bandstra and Scharlau had two total blocks apiece, with Drake and Weaver making one each.

Nixon was 22-of-22 with two aces while serving, with Polich 12-14-2, Bandstra 16-of-18 and Scharlau 11-of-11. Weaver was 9-of-10 behind the line, with Drake 12-of-18 and Jones 2-of-2.
