The incident occurred about 3:30 p.m. on Iowa Highway 44 (240th Street) near County Road R22 (T Avenue) about two miles east of Dallas Center.

According to Dallas County Sgt. Ryan Bowers, the driver of a Chevrolet Malibu was traveling east of Iowa Highway 44 and turned left in front of the oncoming motorcycle.

The collision tore the bumper from the car, according to radio traffic, but the driver drove on.

Two victims were transported by Dallas County EMS to MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines with serious injuries, Bowers said.

The case is under investigation, and a charge of leaving the scene of an injury accident is pending, he said.

The Dallas Center First Responders and Dallas Center Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
