The first annual Charlie Brewer Memorial Fun Run will be held Saturday, Aug. 14 from 9-11 a.m., organizers have announced.
“Charlie had a smile that wouldn’t quit and loved all things athletic, so there’s no better way to celebrate his memory — and raise funds for his new scholarship — than an annual fun run,” an organizer said.
The Fun Run will include a one-mile walk or 5K run plus a lot of family-friendly festivities:
- Carnival-style, kid-friendly games
- Cotton candy and treats
- Photo booth (shout out to Sheila Wallace for making this happen!)
- The Parlor Ice Cream Truck (the monster cookie is a fav!)
- Vintage Road Coffee Co. (so you can get your coffee fix, or get your kids a delicious smoothie)
If you sign up before Monday, July 26, you will receive a race ticket as well as a t-shirt, and you’ll be entered into the giveaway raffle.
Non-runners who still want to donate to the scholarship fund may use the link and make an online donation.
