The Check into Cash payday loan store will close its doors in Perry March 1.

Check into Cash, the payday loan and check cashing store tucked in between U.S. Cellular and TC&B Corporate Wearbles at 524 First Ave., will close its Perry store March 1, the company announced this week.

Founded in 1993, Check into Cash operates more than 1,100 stores in 30 states, offering services such as payday advances, in-store cash loans, online payday loans, title loans, title pawns, check cashing, Western Union, Bill Pay, and reloadable U.S. money prepaid MasterCards.

Consumers who rely on Western Union in order to wire overseas remittances and send money back home will be pleased to learn the Perry Hy-Vee store is upgrading and bringing forward its customer-service desk.

Hy-Vee Store Director Matt Rohe said many local customers use the Western Union wire service every month, making it one of the most in-demand of the customers services. He said the remodel should be completed in February, with the customer-service station located just inside the front doors.
