Chilly met chili Saturday as the frigid temperatures gave the Dawson Fall Festival and Chili Cook-Off the genuine autumnal edge.
Five batches of chili were entered in the competition, and Johan (John) Zander took the blue ribbon, with Belinda Morman’s chili taking second. All five were well worth seconds — as in second helpings.
Robin Wolfe designed an assortment of games for the kids, including fall-themed bean bag toss, bean bag tic-tax-toe, ring toss and mini golf.
Youngsters enjoyed making S’mores bars while the adults indulged in homemade pies, the perfect autumn complement to a hearty bowl of chili.
