Chocolate Walk promotes sweet shopping in Perry, Woodward

Chilly Chocolate Walkers took to the streets of Perry and Woodward Saturday for the 2016 Chocolate Walk, with 23 local businesses offering a variety of treats in an effort to promote local shopping and local advertising.

Service clubs also took part, with the Optimist International Club serving treats in a local retailer’s sales showroom.

The name of the lucky winner of a one-night stay in the Hotel Pattee in downtown Perry will be announced Monday, according to Perry-Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bob Wilson.

“We’re very excited,” Wilson said, “because this event always follows closely on the heels of the BRR Bike Ride to Rippey. They’re back-to-back ways for Perry to advertise itself and partner with fellow bike trail communities like Rippey and Woodward.”
