A work crew from AccuJet Iowa clears a sewer main Sunday morning on Iowa Street in Perry.

Workers with the Perry Public Works Department are conspicuous around town in their snow plows, but the maintenance work they perform underground is just as important if less visible.

For example, a crew from the Perry Public Works Department took advantage of Thursday morning’s brief window of fair weather to make some quick repairs on a manhole in the 2000 block of First Avenue.

Similarly, a work crew from AccuJet Iowa cleared a sanitary sewer line Sunday morning on Iowa Street between Eighth and 10th streets.

“We noticed it was moving a little slow,” an AccuJet worker told ThePerryNews.com, “so we’re jetting it out.”

Motorists are urger to slow down and use caution when passing work sites on the slick streets of Perry.
