The city of Perry will hold its annual household hazardous waste collection Saturday, July 21 from 9 a.m. until noon in the parking lot of the Public Safety Building at 908 Willis Ave.
Items accepted for disposal include:
- antifreeze
- batteries (only rechargeable)
- cleaners
- fertilizers
- fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs)
- glues
- gasoline and kerosene
- motor oil (used)
- oil filters (used)
- oil-based paint
- pesticides
- poison
- pool chemicals
- roofing tar
- stains
- varnishes
- thermostats
- thermometers (mercury)
- vegetable oil
- weed killers
- windshield fluid
Some items will not be accepted for disposal. These include:
- ammunition
- asbestos
- electronics
- explosives
- fire extinguishers
- latex paint
- medications
- propane tanks
- radioactive materials
