City’s spring clean-up collections set for April 18-20

The city of Perry has released the following public service announcement:

Spring clean-up items will be collected by the city of Perry on April 18, April 19 and April 20, weather permitting, according to the following schedule:

Monday, April 18 – All areas east of First Avenue and south of Willis Avenue
Tuesday, April 19 – All areas east of First Avenue and north of Willis Avenue
Wednesday, April 20 – All areas west of First Avenue

Items must be placed between the curb and property line by 7 a.m. in order to guarantee pickup. Once an area is completed, crews will not return.

Crews will pick up special phone-in requests Thursday, April 21.

The cost will be $25 minimum for up to one-half of a dump truck load. Each additional half-load or portion thereof will be charged $25.

A separate fee of $25.00 will be charged for each appliance, and $15 will be charged for each microwave. A $20 fee will be charged for each box spring, mattress or sofa.

Small clean-up items must be placed in trash bags, sturdy boxes or other disposable containers no larger than a garbage can. Loose bits and pieces will not be picked up.

Statements will be sent by the city of Perry in May 2016.

The city will not accept the following items: car, truck or tractor tires, hazardous materials of any kind, batteries of any kind, paint cans (unless empty and/or dried out), brush, concrete and metal bed springs.
