Classroom efforts of Perry extra-curricular students honored

Achievements in the classroom earned honors for members of Perry's football and swim teams.

A wide array of academic honors are beginning to pour in for Perry athletes, cheerleaders and dancers from the winter season.

All honorees listed were required to be in grades 10-12 and have a grade point average of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale as well as earning a letter for participation.

Seven members of the Jayette varsity basketball team collected Raccoon River Conference All-Academic recognition. Those attaining the status were Molly Lutmer, Ainsley Marburger, Odaly Perla, Hannah Peterson, Michelle Tobar, Kennedy Tunink and Quinn Whiton.

The Jayettes also received an IGHSAU Distinguished Team Academic Award.

The Perry basketball and wrestling cheer squads both received IHSAA Distinguished Team Academic Awards, with Shelby De la Cruz, Rylynn Gilmore, Sydney Helmers, Carly Herrera, Jamileth Sarceno and Cindy Truong all collected RRC All-Academic Cheer honors.

The Perry Pulse Dancers received a Dance Distinguished Team Academic Award. Individual dancers honored were Kaylynn Bousman, Emily Debord, Delaney Eiteman, Beyonce Gonzalez, Macie Mosher, Leslie Ramos, Elaine Thomason, Cindy Truong and Sarah Vaughn.
