The stage is nearly set at the Perry Performing Arts Center, 1200 18th St. in Perry, for Wednesday’s Veterans Day ceremonies, with Tuesday afternoon’s raising of the 20 foot by 30 foot U.S. flag that serves as backdrop to the event.

Three Perry American Legion Post 85 volunteers, Post Commander Mike Kelley and Legionnaires Tom Sloss and Steve Cook, unfurled and hung the large flag, leaving it time to lose its creases before ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Kelley also raised the Legion’s purple flag, and Tracy Moore raised the colors of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2060 in Perry.

The full program for the day’s events is available on the Perry High School Activities website.
