Connie Sayles, 80, of Perry passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at the Rowley Memorial Masonic Home in Perry, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 19 at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Perry. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 18 from 5-7 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry.

Memorials will be given to family and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent atwww.carrisfuneralhome.com.

Connie was born March 21, 1937, to Marvin and Glola Ingels in New Market, Iowa.

She grew up in Woodward and graduated from Woodward High School in 1955. On June 3, 1956, she was united in marriage to Larry Eugene Sayles at the Christian Church in Woodward.

They lived in Woodward for a short time before moving to Perry in 1966 where they made their home. To their union were born three children: Rodney, Rhonda and Roxanne.

Connie was a very kind hearted and selfless person who loved her family unconditionally. Her contagious smile and laugh, along with her one-of-a-kind sense of humor, were enjoyed by many.

She kept active through the years coaching girls’ softball, was a member of a bowling league and Eastern Star.

She was Woodward High School Homecoming Queen, Mother of the Year in 1975 and Queen of the Rowley Memorial Masonic Home in 2011.

Connie had a love for cooking and was known for her homemade noodles and mints.

One of Connie’s greatest joys was babysitting. She did this for many years for a large number of kids.

She was a very active member of the First Christian Church in Perry, where she loved singing in the choir.

Connie is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Sayles; and her parents, Marvin and Glola Ingels.

Connie is survived by her son, Rodney (Chris) Sayles of Perry; daughter, Rhonda (Dennis) Meyer of Morgan, Minn.; daughter, Roxanne (Bob) Brown of Rippey; grandchildren, Jason Meyer of Plankington, S.D., Ashley Meyer (Tom Nelson) of Franklin, Minn., Shawn (Jon) Allen of Rippey and Tanner (Jessica) Brown of Rippey; great-grandchildren, Grace Hamre, Silas Meyer and Ava, Asher and Axton Allen.
