The route recommended by the Perry Park Board would use the existing walking path for a widened bicycle trail through Wiese Park.

Among the anticipated actions at Monday night’s meeting of the Perry City Council will be the bid letting for proposed improvements to the Wiese Park trail and the scheduling of an April 16 public hearing on the project.

The project will connect the 16th Street trail to the Wiese Park trail as a step in building what will eventually become the High Trestle Trail connector from Perry to Woodward.

The contract calls for the removal of about 600 square yards of pavement and the paving of about 1,000 square yards using Portland cement concrete.

Bids on the work will be due April 11 by 2 p.m. Following the April 16 public hearing on the proposed contract documents and estimated cost for the improvements, the council will award the contract to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, if there is one.

The contract calls for completion of the project by Oct. 19.
