The communications center of the Dallas County Sheriff's office is located at the south end of the Dallas County Human Services Campus at 25747 N Ave. near Adel.

Flooding in the Adel area has impaired the land-based 911 service to the Dallas County Sheriffs Communications Center, according to a statement released Saturday morning by Dallas County Sheriff Chad Leonard.

“Land-based 911 services for Dallas County have been diverted to another 911 Center,” Leonard said. “That Center will forward information to the Dallas County
Communications Center as it is received.”

The disruption does not affect wireless 911 services.

The sheriff said Centurylink is working to resolve the issue.

Leonard encouraged citizens to program his office’s regular number 515-993-4567 into their phones and use that number to report both emergencies and non-emergencies.

“We would encourage you to program all your local public safety numbers into your phones,” Leonard said.
