COVID-19 deaths in Iowa rise to 589, positive cases at 21,094

DES MOINES, Iowa — Data from the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) indicate total COVID-19 deaths statewide in Iowa stood at 589 at about 10 a.m. Friday, June 5. In Dallas County, 26 deaths have been reported.

The total for positive cases statewide stands at 21,094, including 952 in Dallas County.

Of Iowa’s population of 3.1 million people, 179,813 have been tested, about 5.8% of the total population.
