Granger's Hawk Field will see its first action of the season Thursday when Earlham visits W-G for a WCAC varsity doubleheader.

GRANGER — Junior Jacob Craven struck out six in tossing a perfect game Monday as Ogden recorded a 3-0 win at Woodward-Granger in WCAC baseball.[wpedon id=”82220″ align=”center”]

Craven faced the minimum 21 batters without yielding a hit or a walk, and the Bulldog defense player error-free. So in command was the junior that he needed only 70 pitches to hurl the masterpiece.

W-G sophomore Brandon Worley, while not perfect, was stingy enough that, under normal circumstances, he would likely have been the winning pitcher. Worley yielded three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five in seven innings in being handed the tough-luck loss.

Ogden scored twice in the top of the fourth and once in the seventh to secure the win.

Kayden Kruse had three singles and scored once, with Chad Mohr hitting a double while Charlie Lake had a RBI-single to highlight the Bulldog offense.

W-G travels to Des Moines Christian tonight before visiting West Central Valley for a doubleheader Thursday. The Hawks will return home Friday for a non-conference visit from Winterset.
