Dubuque-based Fahrner Asphalt Sealing LLC has begun sealing cracks and joints in both lanes of Willis Avenue, the city of Perry announced Tuesday.
The work started at Iowa Highway 141 and will proceed west to about 18th Street. Cracks will also be sealed in Willis Avenue from W. Third Street to I Court.
The sealing work will force the closure of one lane of Willis Avenue at a time, and the work crew will work their way from east to west.
Once Willis Avenue is complete, Fahrner will seal pavement cracks on Park Street from 18th Street westward to Eighth Street.
The final phase will include sealing the city parking lot located on the northwest corner of Willis and First avenues, near the Raccoon River Vallet Trailhead and Caboose Park.
The city of Perry expects all work to be completed by Thursday, Aug. 23.
