Cynthia Cay Dolecki (Clark), 65, of Monte Vista, Colorado, passed away Oct. 30, 2022, in Monte Vista, Colorado.
Cindi was born in Perry, Iowa, Nov. 26 1956. She was the youngest of four children born to Clyde and Gen Clark.
She attended Des Moines Area Community College and graduated in 1977 with a degree in early childhood education. She carried a passion for the education and nurturing of young children throughout her life.
Cindi married Carlos Abreu in 1979 and welcomed her first son shortly after.
She spent the early ’80s as a professional portrait photographer and daycare/preschool operator.
In 1986 Cindi and her son moved to Colorado, and she met her second husband, Steve, shortly after. They quickly fell in love, sharing common religious and moral viewpoints. In time they welcomed two more children, and chose to start a life as homesteaders in the San Luis Valley.
Unfortunately, Steve passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in July 1990, and within a year Cindi settled in Monte Vista, where she spent the remainder of her life.
She will be remembered as a lover and nurturer of children, a self-proclaimed “Jesus Freak” and a boisterous chatterbox.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Gen Clark; her husband, Steve Paul Dolecki; and her father-in-law, James Dolecki.
She is survived by her son, Adam; a daughter near Chicago; her son, Jeremiah, and his daughter, Miyah; and her siblings, Tina Mortenson, Sara Dreyer and Richard Clark.
