A Dallas Center man was arrested Saturday after allegedly assaulting his sister in the home.

Hunter Scott Stout, 25, of 1200 Ash St., Dallas Center, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 10 a.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of Ash Street in Dallas Center, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The deputies made contact with the victim, who told the deputies that Stout allegedly “broke her bedroom door down and physically attacked her,” according to court records.

A witness told the deputies that the victim “got a kitchen knife to defend herself,” and the victim told the deputies that Stout allegedly “lunged at her as she had the knife out,” according to court records.

The deputies observed on Stout “minor lacerations to his fingers on his right hand from the knife,” according to court records, and the victim told the deputies that “her back and neck were hurting.”

Stout was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Oct. 10 in Dallas County District Court.
