Construction has forced the closure of the regular entrance to the Dallas County Auditor’s office at 210 N. 10th St. in Adel, with the nine-week reconstruction of the building’s parking lot causing visitors to enter from the south.

Des Moines-based Kingston Services PC was awarded the $165,000 construction contract in December. The project is estimated to take 45 working days to complete, and the newly paved lot will reopen in mid-June.

Visitors with business in the auditor’s office are asked to use the sidewalk along 910 Court St. and then enter the auditor’s building via the temporary entrance off the alleyway.

Parking is available on Court Street and 10th Street.

Dallas County Auditor Julia said she apologizes for any temporary inconvenience this facility-improvement project causes to county citizens.
