Dallas County Hospital to welcome new CEO March 17

Angela Mortoza, new chief executive officer of the Dallas County Hospital, met Perry-area residents Thursday at an open house at the hospital.

Perry-area residents will get a chance to meet the new chief executive officer of the Dallas County Hospital, Angela Mortoza, at an open house Thursday, March 17 at 2 p.m. in the DCH Community Room.

Mortoza’s selection was announced in November following the resignation of former DCH CEO Matt Wille. Mortoza earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Mercy College in Des Moines and a Master of Science degree in healthcare administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Ill.

Light refreshments will be served at the open house, with a brief presentation beginning at 2:15 p.m.

Mortoza has a 20-year background in nursing management at Mercy’s Children’s Emergency Center and Mercy Medical Surgical Unit. She spent the last four years in Greenfield as the Adair County Health System CEO.

 

Donna Vandehaar, will has served at the hospital’s interim CEO, said everyone is “excited to welcome Angela and see where she will lead us next. The strong leadership she has shown in her previous roles, as well as her experience and knowledge, makes her the perfect fit for Dallas County Hospital.”
