Aug. 13, 2021

  • Eric Shelley of Minburn was traveling northbound on Fifth Street in Minburn when his vehicle struck an unoccupied vehicle, owned by Benjamin Heintzleman of Minburn. No injuries were reported. Shelley was issued a citation for striking an unattended vehicle, failure to provide proof of insurance and failure to maintain control. Damage to Shelley’s vehicle was estimated at $1,500, and damage to Heintzleman’s vehicle was estimated at $1,500.

Aug. 20, 2021

  • Anthony J. Parnell, 24, of 1306 11th St., Perry, was arrested on a warrant for dissemination and exhibition of obscene material to minors.
  • R. D. Nicolaisen, 30, of 12842 Houston Ave., Perry, was arrested for second-offense OWI.

Aug. 21, 2021

  • Jennifer Jackson, 33, of 1000 24th St., Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree criminal mischief.

Aug. 22, 2021

  • Janelle Haselby, 39, of 9127 Stratton Dr., Johnston, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of first-offense possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine.
  • Karen Posadas Perez, 32, of 1101 Geil Ave, Des Moines, was arrested on three warrants for failure to appear on original charges of first-offense possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine and driving while barred.
  • Jesse Kirk of Linden was at the intersection of S. Main and Guthrie streets in Linden when he turned sharply to avoid hitting a bicycle in the road, and his vehicle struck a fire hydrant. No injuries were reported. Damage to Kirk’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000. No damage to the fire hydrant was reported.
  • Jose Rangel, 39, of 111 S. 16th St, Denison, was arrested for driving while barred and issued citations for speeding, windshield and window requirements and improper brake light.

Aug. 23, 2021

  • Michael Dorrian, 35, of 25750 U Ave., Waukee, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while license denied, suspended, canceled or revoked.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
