Aug. 25, 2022

  • Samantha Allen of Bennington, Nebraska, was traveling near Guthrie and Ash streets in De Soto when she stopped in the travel portion of the road, and the trailer she was pulling was struck by a vehicle, driven by Ivan Olson of De Soto. No injuries were reported. Damage to Olson’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000, and damage to Allen’s vehicle and trailer was estimated at $1,500. Allen was issued a citation for improper rear lamps and improper use of lanes.

Aug. 26, 2022

  • Dlorah Lee, 40, of 510 Max Dr., Stuart, was arrested for OWI.
  • Brittany McCollough, 35, of 3655 240th St., Spencer, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.
  • Day-Lon Houston, 32, of 1645 N.W. 191st St., Clive, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of assault causing bodily injury.

Aug. 27, 2022

  • Edward Friedmann of Redfield was backing out of a driveway in the 500 block of Second Street in Redfield when his vehicle was struck by a vehicle, driven by Vance Mylan of Redfield. No injuries were reported. Damage to Friedmann’s vehicle was estimated at $10,000, and damage to Mylan’s vehicle was estimated at $1,000.
  • Rhoni Procopio of Bayard was traveling westbound on Iowa Highway 141 near Quinlan Avenue when she lost control, and the vehicle crossed both lanes of traffic, entered the south ditch and overturned. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $8,000.
  • Jessica Bensley, 36, of 508 Park Ave., Lorimor, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while suspended.

Aug. 28, 2022

  • Marshall Lohrenz of Minnetonka, Minnesota, was traveling eastbound on U.S. Interstate 80 at the 112 mile marker when he slowed to avoid a vehicle that slowed for an unrelated accident, and his vehicle was struck by a vehicle, driven by Rory Comito of Van Meter. No injuries were reported. Damage to Comito’s vehicle was estimated at $10,000, and damage to Lohrenz’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
