December 11, 2019

  • Roland Benifiel of Perry was traveling in the 13000 block of U.S. Highway 169 when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $500.

December 12, 2019

  • Steven Kennedy of Boone was traveling in the 13500 block of R Avenue when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $4,000.
  • Thomas Harvey of Belmond was traveling south in the 34000 block of Ute Avenue when a vehicle approaching from the opposite direction on the curve crossed the center line and side-swiped Harvey’s vehicle. The vehicle then fled the scene. No injuries were reported. Damage to Harvey’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000.
  • Jared Manning of Granger was traveling east on W. Fourth Street when his vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Kaden Seeman of Granger, who had pulled out of the Woodward Granger High School parking lot onto W. Fourth Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to Seeman’s vehicle was estimated at $2,000, and damage to Manning’s vehicle was estimated at $1,500.
  • Jennifer Lauer of Perry was parked in the Perry High School parking lot when the vehicle next to her vehicle, driven by Marvin Lopez of Perry, pulled away from its parking spot and caught the door on Lauer’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage to Lauer’s vehicle was estimated at $1,000, and damage to Lopez’s vehicle was estimated at $499.
  • Manuel Castellanos of Perry was traveling east on 150th Street when his tire blew out, causing him to lose control of the vehicle, which entered the ditch and rolled onto its roof. Castellanos suffered minor injuries and was treated at the Dallas County Hospital. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $5,000.
  • William Bruce Telleen, 45, of 3941 Cambridge St., Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on original charges of theft and burglary.
  • Kaijuan Avonte Curtis, 20, of 780 S.E. Jonas Circle, Waukee, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of burglary.

December 13, 2019

  • Kayden Allen Nelson, 18, of 102 S. Grimmell Rd., Jefferson, was arrested on a warrant for criminal mischief and operating a vehicle without owner’s consent.
