February 8, 2018

  • Grant Eklund of Perry was traveling north in the 25000 block of W Avenue when his vehicle hit black ice and went off the shoulder. Eklund overcorrected and struck another southbound vehicle driven by Michelle Kuble of Grimes. Kuble was taken to Mercy Hospital by the Waukee EMS. No other injuries were reported. Damage to Eklund’s vehicle was estimated at $6,000, and damage to Kuble’s vehicle was estimated at $6,000. Eklund was issued a citation for failure to maintain control.

February 9, 2018

  • Christopher James Larson, 32, of 120 Northview Dr., Waukee, was arrested at 25747 N Ave., Adel, for driving while license suspended.
  • Kurt Douglas Sproston, 51, of 3244 E. University Ave., Des Moines, was arrested on warrants for probation violation and failure to appear on an original charge of domestic abuse assault.

February 10, 2018

  • Alexandrea Frost of Woodward was traveling in the 13000 block of Bittersweet Road when her vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2,750.
  • Jacob Lucas Comer, 40, of 23820 Floris Rd., Bloomfield, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation on an original charge of driving while barred.
  • Kersey Sar Shande, 26, of 618 S. 18th St., Ft Dodge, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while license under suspension.

February 11, 2018

  • Teneisha Danielle Tyler, 31, of 1039 67th St., Windsor Heights, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while licenses under suspension.
  • Leslie Ellen Montgomery, 48, of 455 N.W. Fifth St., Earlham, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear for pretrial conference on an original charge of driving while license under suspension.
  • Joseph Shader of North Liberty was traveling near the 100 mile marker of U.S. Interstate 80 when he lost control on the icy roadway and veered into the cable barrier. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $8,000. Shader was issued a citation for no driver’s license.
  • Michael Blaser of Woodward was traveling west on N. Third Street in Woodward when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Lloyd Fagin of Perry. The roadway was partially covered with snow. No injuries were reported. Damage to Blaser’s vehicle was estimated at $1,200, and damage to Fagin’s vehicle was estimated at $300. Fagin was given a warning ticket for driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway.
