Jan. 6, 2022

  • A minor driver was traveling eastbound on Iowa Highway 44 near S Avenue when the minor’s vehicle struck a vehicle, driven by Will Keller of Dallas Center, which had slowed to turn onto S Avenue. No injuries were reported. Damage to the minor’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000, and damage to Keller’s vehicle was estimated at $3,500. The minor driver was issued a citation for failure to stop in assured clear distance.

Jan. 7, 2022

  • Dustin Capps of Stuart was traveling in the 33000 block of Old Highway 6 when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $1,500.
  • Samantha Grove of Gilbert was traveling southbound on Iowa Highway 17 when her vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $5,000.
  • Deitra McCrory of Prole was traveling southbound in the 33000 block of U.S. Highway 169 when she attempted to pass another vehicle and struck a vehicle, driven by Adam Hilgenberg of Adel, which was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 169. Both vehicles came to rest in the east ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage to McCrory’s vehicle was estimated at $12,000, and damage to Hilgenberg’s vehicle was estimated at $25,000. McCrory was issued a citation for failure to yield half of roadway and no valid driver’s license.

Jan. 8, 2022

  • Hunter Keasey, 22, of 25431 N Ave., Dallas Center, was arrested on a warrant for third-degree harassment.
  • Alejandro Perez Lazaro, 30, of 611 Maverick Lane, Madrid, was arrested for driving while barred and driving while license denied or revoked and issued citations for failure to provide proof of financial liability and failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way.

Jan. 9, 2022

  • Marco Barrios, 27, of 7500 Bloomfield Road, Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.
  • Cassandra Huston, 35, of 1225 11th St, West Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.
