June 8, 2022
- Jordan Mullen of Atlantic was traveling westbound on Iowa Highway 44 at V Avenue when he observed a vehicle crossing the center line into his lane. Mullen swerved to avoid a head-on collision, but the trailer he was pulling was struck by a vehicle, driven by James Brierton of West Des Moines. No injuries were reported. Damage to Mullen’s vehicle and trailer was estimated at $10,000, and damage to Brierton’s vehicle was estimated at $10,000.
June 9, 2022
- A juvenile motorist was traveling near the 13000 block of Knox Avenue when a tire blew, and the driver lost control of the vehicle, which entered the ditch and overturned. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $4,000. The minor driver and a minor passenger were released to their parents on scene, and the minor driver was issued a citation for no valid driver’s license.
- Isaiah Peterson of Winterset was traveling in the 11000 block of Iowa Highway 44 when his vehicle was struck in the rear by a vehicle, driven by Laci Rishel of Panora. No injuries were reported. Damage to Peterson’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000, and damage to Rishel’s vehicle was estimated at $10,000.
- Aaron Willis, 25, of 500 Third St., West Des Moines, was arrested for OWI.
