November 18, 2023

  • Sheri Rooker, 56, of no fixed abode was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.
  • Nicholas Adams, 24, of 3811 S.W. Third St., Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while suspended.
  • Stuart Leahy, 33, of 16618 Wildem Dr., Clive, was arrested for OWI, possession of a controlled substance and possession of contraband in a correctional institution and issued citations for speeding, failure to maintain control and failure to provide proof of financial liability.
  • Lisa Brickman of Redfield was traveling in the 33000 block of L Avenue when her vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $7,500.
  • A juvenile driver was traveling in the 16000 block of Wendover Avenue when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which entered the ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $1,500.
  • Mickayla Kenworthy, 28, of 2714 34th St., Des Moines, was arrested for OWI and issued citations for failure to maintain control and leave the scene of an accident after she drove her vehicle onto train tracks near 360th Street and struck a parked train. Damage to Kenworthy’s vehicle was estimated at $8,000, and damage to the train car was minimal.

November 19, 2023

  • Dalton Matt, 27, of 607 East St., Elgin, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while suspended.
  • Derek Gomer, 26, of no fixed address was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of probation violation.
  • Robert Slater of Arion, Iowa, was traveling on Iowa Highway 141 near R Avenue when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $5,000.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
