September 30, 2022
- Deputies responded to 13500 I Court in Perry for a motor vehicle accident in the parking lot. Maria Hernandez De Gonzale and Virginia Calderon from Perry were both backing out, and Hernandez De Gonzale was about ready to pull ahead, and Calderon did not see her in the center portion of the driveway and struck her vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage to Hernandez De Gonzale’s vehicle was estimated at $1500, and damage to Calderon’s vehicle was estimated at $400.
- Gregory Grover of Cedar Falls was traveling southbound in the 33000 block of N Avenue when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $10,000.
- Nichole Weston of Dallas Center was traveling eastbound on 240th Street and was slowing down to make a left-hand turn north onto T Avenue when her vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle, driven by Jack Kidd of Dallas Center. No injuries were reported. Damage to Weston’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000, and damage to Kidd’s vehicle was estimated at $4,000.

- Nichole Bettis of Van Meter was traveling in the 25000 block of 347th Street when she lost traction on the wash outs in the road and overcorrected, causing her vehicle to enter the south ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $7,000.
- David Logemann of Earlham was traveling northbound on L Avenue when his motorcycle struck a deer. Logemann was transported to Methodist Medical Center by Dallas County EMS. Damage to the motorcycle was estimated at $10,000.

- Alan Steven Kessler, 68, of 8720 Cody Dr., West Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for theft, ongoing criminal conduct and securities fraud.
- Roscoe Love Lewis Jr., 19, of 405 Fourth St., Waukee, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving under suspension.

- Lorie Reed of LaPorte, Indiana, was traveling near the 104 mile marker of U.S. Interstate 80 when her vehicle struck a coyote. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $15,000.
