Longtime Perry High School Principal Dan Marburger will be inducted today as the newest figure on the Wall of Witnesses in Soumas Court in 5 p.m. ceremonies, Hometown Heritage at the Carnegie Library Museum announced last month.
Marburger was PHS principal from 1995 until his murder in January 2024. The announcement said he was a consummate educator, administrator, community advocate, friend and, most importantly, a family man.
“The vote in favor of Dan was overwhelming,” said Hometown Heritage at the Carnegie Library Museum Director Bill Clark. “His untimely passing again demonstrated his devotion to the students and staff he served.”
The public is invited to celebrate Marburger’s legacy embossed on his ceramic relief by joining the Marburger family, the artist of the relief, Rick Stewart, the Hometown Heritage and community friends in the Hotel Pattee’s Spring Valley Ballroom and Soumas Court.
Light refreshments will be served after the program. For more information, call Hometown Heritage at the Carnegie Library Museum at 515-465-7713.
