A Davenport man was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for assault Monday in connection with a March incident at a West Des Moines motel.
Ronald J. Lopez, 59, of 1000 Blythwood Place, Davenport, was arrested on a warrant for assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.
According to court records, the incident occurred about 11 p.m. March 6, when Lopez and the victim, an Altoona woman, “became involved in a heated dispute while both subjects frequented the Hilton Garden Inn located at 205 S. 64th St.” in West Des Moines.
During the course of the argument, Lopez allegedly “grabbed the victim by the wrist and/or arm and yanked/pulled her downward, leaving visible bruising to the same area,” according to court records.
A warrant for Lopez’s arrest was ordered March 24 in Dallas County District Court and served April 20. He is scheduled for arraignment May 6 in Dallas County District Court.
