David López Villalobos, de 68 años, de Perry, falleció pacíficamente el lunes 10 de febrero de 2025, rodeado de su querida familia.
La visitación se llevará a cabo el viernes 14 de febrero de 2025, de 4:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m., con un santo rosarioa las 7:00 p.m., en Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Perry Chapel. La Misa de Funeral Cristiano se celebrará el sábado 15 de febrero de 2025 a las 9:00 a.m. en la Iglesia Católica San Patricio en Perry, seguida del entierro en el Cementerio Violet Hill. Nacido el 23 de julio de 1956 en Sonsonate, El Salvador, David era hijo de Agatón Villalobos Guardado y Esperanza de las Mercedes López. El 21 de diciembre de 1985, se casó con el amor de su vida, Silvia Posada, en El Salvador.
Devoto miembro de la Iglesia San Patricio en Perry, David tenía una fe profunda e inquebrantable, que lo guió a lo largo de su vida. Su fe fue la base de su bondad, generosidad y disposición para ayudar a quienes lo necesitaban.
Antes de mudarse a los Estados Unidos, David sirvió como oficial de policía en El Salvador, dedicándose a proteger y servir a su comunidad. Después de establecerse en Perry, trabajó en Tyson durante 18 años, donde fue reconocido por su fuerte ética de trabajo, confiabilidad y carácter amable.
David encontraba alegría en mantenerse activo y visitaba con frecuencia el centro recreativo después del trabajo, donde disfrutaba especialmente del sauna. Apasionado del fútbol, amaba ver los partidos y animar a sus equipos favoritos. Una de sus tradiciones diarias más apreciadas eran sus reuniones de café a las 5:00 a.m. con su hermana, Teresa Villalobos.
Tras su jubilación, David adoptó un ritmo de vida más tranquilo pero permaneció tan involucrado como siempre. Pasaba gran parte de su tiempo en el taller de su hijo Jorge Villalobos, donde disfrutaba ayudando en lo que podía. Conocido por su gran corazón, su bondad y disposición para poner a los demás primero dejaron una huella imborrable en todos los que lo conocieron.
Por encima de todo, David atesoraba a su familia. Su mayor alegría era pasar tiempo con sus hijos y nietos, brindándoles amor, sabiduría y aliento. Se sentía orgulloso de verlos crecer, celebrar sus logros y crear recuerdos inolvidables juntos. Para David, la familia lo era todo, y su amor y dedicación serán profundamente extrañados pero siempre recordados.
Le sobreviven su amada esposa de 39 años de casados, Silvia Posada de Perry; sus hijos: Roberto (Gemma) López de Hesperia, California; Edwin López de Perry; Alex López de Perry; David (Mirza) López de Des Moines; María López (Rolando Perla) de Ottumwa; Iris (Diego) Fernández de Ottumwa; Sandy Villalobos (Esdras López) de Perry; Jorge López de Perry; y Jorge Villalobos (Lidia Herrera) de Perry; 15 nietos; un bisnieto; y sus hermanas: Ángela Villalobos, Teresa Villalobos y Belarmina De Guardado. También le sobreviven numerosos sobrinos, sobrinas, otros familiares y amigos.
David fue precedido en muerte por sus padres, Agatón Villalobos Guardado y Esperanza de las Mercedes López; sus hermanos, Jorge Elías Villalobos, Alfredo Villalobos y Tránsito Villalobos; y sus hermanas, Rosa Villalobos de Sandoval y Feliciana Villalobos.
David López Villalobos, 68, of Perry passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 10, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 14 from 4-8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m., at the Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home-Perry Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 9 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Perry, followed by burial at Violet Hill Cemetery.
Born on July 23, 1956, in Sonsonate, El Salvador, David was the son of Agatón Villalobos Guardado and Esperanza de las Mercedes López. On Dec. 21, 1985, he married the love of his life, Silvia Posada, in El Salvador.
A devoted member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Perry, David had a deep and unwavering faith that guided him throughout his life. His faith was the foundation of his kindness, generosity and willingness to help those in need.
Before moving to the U.S., David served as a police officer in El Salvador, dedicating himself to protecting and serving his community. After settling in Perry, he worked at Tyson for 18 years, where he was recognized for his strong work ethic, reliability and kind nature.
David found joy in staying active and frequently visited the recreation center after work, where he especially enjoyed the sauna. A passionate soccer fan, he loved watching games and cheering for his favorite teams. One of his most cherished daily traditions was his 5 a.m. coffee gatherings with his sister, Teresa Villalopez.
Following his retirement, David embraced a slower pace of life but remained just as involved. He spent much of his time at his son Jorge Villalobos’ workshop, where he enjoyed helping in any way he could. Known for his big heart, his kindness and willingness to put others first left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Above all, David treasured his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren, offering them love, wisdom and encouragement. He took pride in watching them grow, celebrating their achievements and creating unforgettable memories together. For David, family was everything, and his love and dedication will be deeply missed but always remembered.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Silvia Posada of Perry; his children, Roberto (Gemma) López of Hesperia, California, Edwin López of Perry, Alex López of Perry, David (Mirza) López of Des Moines, María López (Rolando Perla) of Ottumwa, Iris (Diego) Fernández of Ottumwa, Sandy Villalobos (Esdras López) of Perry, Jorge López of Perry and Jorge Villalobos (Lidia Herrera) of Perry; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his sisters, Ángela Villalobos, Teresa Villalobos and Belarmina De Guardado; and numerous nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Agatón Villalobos Guardado and Esperanza de las Mercedes López; his brothers, Jorge Elías Villalobos, Alfredo Villalobos and Tránsito Villalobos; and his sisters, Rosa Villalobos de Sandoval and Feliciana Villalobos.
