Dinner was served Sunday at the Dawson United Methodist Church ice cream social fundraiser.

A fall-like evening was the setting Sunday for the annual Dawson United Methodist Church ice cream social which was held at the Dawson Community Building.

The menu included beef burgers or a turkey sandwich, chips, homemade pie, ice cream and lemonade or water for the bargain price of $7.

“I like to eat at events like these,” said Dan Haymond of Perry. “It’s always worth the drive to support our local communities.”

The fundraiser supports the Dawson United Methodist Church’s operations. About 17 people attend the weekly services at the church, and nearly all of them were working at the event.
