Dawson shed burning gets out of hand Friday morning

A controlled burn got briefly out of control Friday morning.

A burning shed at E. Fourth and E. Forest streets in Dawson got away from the person who set it alight Friday morning.

A controlled burn of a structure in Dawson got out of control Friday morning, burning an overhead power line and a power pole on the property.

The Dawson and Perry stations of the Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded and quickly brought the blaze under control.

No injuries were reported.

The property at 411 E. Fourth St. in Dawson is owned by Mary D. Kimball and Jessica A. Bailey-Kimball, according to county records, and the property at 405. E Fourth St. is owned by the city of Dawson.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s office also responded.
